Madeleine
This cocktail is pretty amazing and will always be a safe values at parties. Can be drank as shots or as a simple cocktail!
It tastes like the famous french cake called "madeleine", a little spongey cake eaten as a snack during many french people's childhood. Nostalgia and surprise guaranteed.
You'll need:
- 1cl of Cointreau
- 1cl of Amaretto
- 10cl of Pineapple Juice
- 1cl of coffee liquor (Kahula)
Then shake or stir, and serve without any ice.
PS: The coffee liquor is optional, but I'm very adamant about the fact that it's definitely better this way! If you're very broke, you could also work without the Cointreau. A little bit ghetto in my opinion, but doable in times of need.
Afer Eight
This one is very sirupey, and is the fancier version of another similar-tasting cocktail called the Orgasm (half Baileys, half Get 27).
Can be a bit of a hard pass for some, but definitely very tastey and gourmand for those who like sugary-chocolatey feels broken down by the mint.
You'll need:
- 3 cl of Vodka
- 6cl of Baileys
- 3cl of mint cream/mint liquor (or eventually Get 27)
- 3cl cocoa cream/coffee liquor/Kahula
- 3cl of fresh liquid cream
Then shake a while to get it all foamey, and decorate with a mint leaf for a fancier effect.
PS: Vodka is truly optional in my opinion, but it also helps making it a bit more liquid. The cream also makes it quite heavy, so add or remove at your own liking.
Bombardier
Another Bailey's one. I mean, my URL tells it all, I loooove Baileys hehe ;p
The Bombardier is tricky; because you need to get it foamey AND be careful to keep the layers visible. You have to add each layer carefully with a spoon.
You'll need, in this precise order:
- 2cl of Kahula/Coffee Liquor
- 2cl of Baileys
- 2cl Grand Marnier (or any other orange liquor of your choice)
Then slightly burn the top of the Grand Marnier for a fancier effect!
Pornstar Martini
A very big classic. I know it differs from the previous very Baileys-centered cocktails on this page, but I'm very partial of its sirupey texture.
I dislike Prosecco (I'm really not a fan of Champagne, nor "bubbles" in my cocktails in general folks, sorry) so out of habit I put it in a shooter on the side. It's also considered fancier because it enriches the flavour of the cocktail itself, so do that, but if you're short on shooters, just add it at the end after shaking.
You'll need:
- 4cl Vodka
- 2cl of Passion Fruit juice
- 2cl Vanilla Sirup
- 3cl Passion Fruit Liquor/Passoa
Shake and voilà. Top it with 4cl of Prosecco, or serve it as a shooter on the side as I said! It's better to drink it first to enjoy the cocktail's flavour to its fullest.
Piña Colada
Don't need to introduce this banger. I put it under sirupey but it's more of a "sugary" kinda recipe if you ask me.
Obvious thing to mention, but Piñas are very traitorious in the way that you get drunk easily thinking you're just having a funky tropical juice.
Let's go:
- 4cl White Rhum
- 6cl of pineapple juice
- 6cl of coconut cream
- 2cl of sugar cane sirup
Then shake and serve with lots of ice. You can replace the coconut cream by coconut milk if you want something less heavy, or do a mix of the two to even them out.
I have to say, a good Piña Colada only resides in the freshness of the pineapple and the coconut cream. The more you're able to get real fruits or find the purest juice to make it, the better the result will be. I've gotten distrastrous results by using coconut milk made for cooking curries, so don't do that either. Very very bad idea.
